Dear Mr Ambassador!

We, signed below, are looking upon the escalation of the conflict in Georgia with anxiety. We want to express our strong objection against the actions of the Russian Federation, whose army violated the territorial integrity of the Republic of Georgia, which is an independent and sovereign country. We listen to the Russian Federation's President Dmitrij Miedwiediew, who claims that according to the Constitution the Russian Federation's duty is to protect the lives and dignity of Russian citizens no matter where they are, with indignation. The arguments refer to the infamous history, when Adolph Hitler in his speech after the Munich Agreement wanted to justify the annexation of "Sudetenland" and to the official position of the Soviet Union on the day of its aggression on Poland in 1939. We consider such actions to be unacceptable.

We are aware of the fact that after the Republic of Georgia had become an independent country in 1992, Russia tried to interfere in its home affairs and it is not the first time it happens. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union many countries from behind the iron curtain, including Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have faced a similar problem, however now the interference has became an armed conflict. The Territorial integrity of Georgia, that have been accepted in various international agreements by other countries and the actions of the Russian Federation breaks the international law. We fear that the next aggressive actions of the Russian Federation in not stabile region of Ciscaucasia may cause an increase in the number of victims on both sides of the conflict.

We would like to express our great support for the Republic of Georgia and its citizens, including those who live South Ossetia. As the citizens of the global society we ask the parties of the conflict to undertake an international acting aiming to appease the conflict and to protect the state integrity in the nearest future it's possible.
